Welcome coach Julimar!

Since October 2023, our football academy in Pune got an additional international coach. Julimar Camargo Junior is a FIFA certified football coach from Brazil.

As a Brazilian, he has football running in his veins since he was born, in Vila Velha city, Espírito Santo state in Brazil. He is just 28 years old but has had a lot of international exposure, including running a business in Bangalore and Goa a few years ago.

Julimar is married to Thaisy, also a Brazilian. They have a 3-year old son, Emanuel.

Our New Address

From the month of June onwards we started offering our professional football coaching classes at the well maintained sports ground of the Boston World School in Undri, Pune.

We now have 3 batches from Monday to Saturday as follows:

– Boys and girls 4 to 7 years: Mondays and Thursdays from 6 to 7PM

– Boys and girls 8 to 11 years: Wednesday and Saturdays from 6 yo 7PM

– Boys and girls 12 to 17 years: Tuesday and Fridays from 5:30 to 7PM

Former CTM student shines

Stephen Chiru, who did some of his early trainings with us in Pune, is now shining at the Karnataka state football tournaments. Stephen’s father, Mr. Ashong Chiru sent us the above photo saying:

“In yesterday’s match (20/11/2021) Stephen – who is now playing for Stadium FC Academy – got the ‘man of the match’ award. Please continue to pray for him as he plays in Bengaluru.” Mr. Ashong sent this message of appreciation saying, “Stephen is a CTM Sports’ product!”

Congratulations Stephen! We are very proud of your achievements so far! May your football career soar to much higher heights!

Top Teams in Action!

While we wait for the State and Central Governments to ease the restrictions caused by the pandemic, we bet many of you cut short sleeping hours in June and July to follow the Euro 2020 and the Copa America 2021.

Football is a fascinating game, full of surprises and in many ways unpredictable. This is also part of the beauty of the game. Who would have predicted, for example, that some of the world top teams that were in the so called “group of death” – the defending champions Portugal and the last two world champions Germany and France – wouldn’t go past the quarter finals? France and Portugal were ousted even before that, in the round of 16! Yes, in Copa America we had less surprises with Brazil and Argentina reaching the finals.

As we watched some of the top countries in the world play, perhaps we can be more attentive to the technical details that make a team perform: team formation, attacking and defending positions, set pieces, physical fitness, agility in transitioning from defending to attacking and vice-versa, creating spaces, goalkeeping, et. These are the very issues that we stress in our coaching sessions day in and day out!

So as we enjoy watching matches, let’s hope we will continue improving our own games, learning from some of these top teams in action. And let the best teams win!

The Waiting is Over!

The waiting is over! We are pleased to announce that, after a gap of almost 10 months, we have started running our football coaching sessions in Pune.

Coach Diego and his team are excited to see kids and teenagers eager to learn more and practice the so called “beautiful game”.

We as a company are carefully following Covid-appropriated norms like the use of sanitisers, temperature check and a small size batches. If you are interested please take note of the days, timings and address below and pay us a visit!

15 Years and Counting

In September we celebrate 15 years of existence! It was in 2005 that three Brazilian coaches: Costa, Tanaami and Martins landed in Mumbai and started CTM Sports Development in Mumbai.

The three founding partners are standing at the back on the picture above (from left to right). The fourth coach is Luciano Nascimento, also from Brazil, who is currently posted in Goa.

One of our first clients were the Delhi Public School in Navi Mumbai, where we ran a futsal demo (photo below) and a soccer clinic. Since then, we were able to provide our professional services to many other schools, colleges and academies.

On this occasion, we want to say a big “OBRIGADO!” (thank you! – in Portuguese) to all our clients, friends and well-wishers.

Life Coaching

It is said that “a good coach can change a game, but a great coach can change a life.” At CTM Sports we value character as much as competence. Sports skills are important, but if the athlete lacks the inner virtues of integrity, honesty, discipline and hard work, soon or late these flaws will show up and affect negatively his or her performance.

A wise man once said, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” Likewise, we too are committed to providing more than just football coaching. We believe we can teach kids skills that they can use on and off the field – skills for life!

The Team is Growing

Solace Vemai, from Manipur, is the newest member to join the growing team of football coaches in Pune. He has joined as an assistant coach from September 2019. Solace completed his Master in English Literature at Wadia College, Pune. But since his childhood he has been a lover of football, a passionate supporter of Manchester United and a good midfield player himself. Besides football, his other hobby is photography.

We are very pleased to have him join our team. Welcome coach Solace!!

Back 2 School

At the start of yet another academic year, our CTM coaches are “back to school” too. They are implementing a new system of coaching and tracking the progress of each student based on international standards. You will see them taking notes and making sure what has been planned for each session gets implemented.

At CTM Sports, we believe in creativity and innovation. Stagnation is not in our vocabulary. After all, football is very dynamic. And we need to keep up with the advances of the game to offer the best to our clients.

We are therefore looking forward to having another enjoyable and fruitful year coaching the boys and girls at Anisha Global Schools in Pune.

Girl Power

Who said girls don’t play football? They do, and they do play well! Did you know that football is one of the most popular female sports, with about 30 million girls and women playing it worldwide?

Marta Vieira da Silva, from Brazil, or simply Marta, was named FIFA World Player of the Year six times (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2018). She is often regarded as the best female player of all time. In the beginning she suffered prejudice as “girls were not suppose to play football.” But things have changed drastically and, today, women football is gaining in popularity with professional leagues in many countries.
