What could be worse for an athlete or a football lover than not having a ball, a little ground and friends around to play with or some thrilling live matches with Messi’s Barça or CR7’s Juve to entertain us? Coach Diego Contreras (Chile) and Manager Josue Tanaami (Brazil) are as eager for this pandemic to subside as most of you who are also passionate about sports, music, hanging out with friends, eating out or, simply, getting a decent hair cut…

But guess what? Covid-19 may be here to stay, at least for the next year or two… When things get back to normal, post Covid-19, most likely it won’t be as it used to be a few months ago. I hope we, human beings, are going to learn important lessons about the gift of life, the value of people, friends, colleagues and neighbours. I hope the “new normal” will help us all live better lives, create good habits of hygiene, be less greedy, self-centred and more caring and willing to extend our helping hand to others, especially those who are in need.

Until we get back with our football coaching sessions, it is our desire that you keep yourself safe, keep your mind busy by reading good books, helping your mom with some house chores, being engaged a project or something that will keep you focused and, if space allows, do some bouncing, dribbling and running with a football. Remember to maintain social distance, but keep in touch with your friends through social media or video calls.

Stay home! Stay safe!
